Spring Break

We spent Spring Break in Stillwater and went to Oklahoma City for a day and Tulsa for a day. We went to the Museum of Natural History in Norman and the Tulsa Zoo. In Stillwater, we went bowling and played glow in the dark miniture golf. All the kids picked out a lawn ornament to put out for mom at the cemetary. They really enjoyed decorating her place up for Spring. We enjoyed our week and the weather was nice also.

This is a picture Christa took to enter into the cowley county fair here in winfield. Can you believe that the judge told her she only got 4th place because it was out of focus!!!!! She was not happy about that. Both girls enjoyed showing their rabbits and photographs and had a good time riding the rides.

Summertime

My husband is back home after a 3 week job in Wyoming. Thank God. I missed him and so did the girls. :) I work 3 days this week then I am off work until August 3rd. For my birthday, I got a floating island that is 12' x 14' I plan on taking it to the lake ALOT this summer and spending some days kicking back and soaking up the sun!!! My girls are excited about this too.

So I am celebrating the big 39 today and am kind of offended when people say AGAIN when I tell them I am 39...No this is the first one. Maybe next year I will say 39 just to see if they remember this was the REAL one!!! So thank you to everyone that has wished me a happy birthday!!! I love all of my friends.

So, Crop Camp was a blast as usual. I hear through the grapevine that there are a couple of funny videos on You Tube. If you search alicia and shandra or blindfold musical chairs you can see them. I love spending the weekend with all you crop campers. And I also have to say the Thursday night options was FABULOUS!!! We will be trying that next year also. I didn't take a lot of pictures at camp, but I will try to get some posted on the photo gallery on the crop camp web site pretty soon. I will try to post more often on my blog, I don't even know if anyone out there reads what I put on here but I enjoy keeping updated. See you soon. :)

My Girls

These are my pride and joy also known as Christa and Ashley. Ashley's picture is on top and she turns 10 on March 16th. Christa is below her and she will be 12 on June 10th. We are so blessed to have these two terrific kids. They are total opposites though. Christa would play outside all day if she could and could care less about doing school work. Ashley comes home from school and then plays school with her pretend class. They are both very sweet girls.

Facebook Junkie

Hi everyone. I know I've been really bad about updating my Blog. However, I am now a Facebook Junkie!!! So, here is my plan. I will update my blog monthly and my Facebook page on a more regular basis. For those of you that don't Facebook, I highly recommend it. I have caught up with family and friends that I haven't talked to in years. It is great to see what everyone has been up to.
So, Crop Camp is like 5 weeks away!!! OMG, and we are almost full. :) We are looking forward to seeing everyone and may have some fun games in store this year. We will be sending out lots of emails during the next 5 weeks, so be on the lookout. :)
So, until next month...GET OUT THERE AND FACEBOOK PEOPLE!!!

A Fun Weekend

The girls and I went to Stillwater and Tulsa this weekend. Dave had to work Saturday and Sunday so we went down there Friday after school and went to Tulsa on Saturday to visit my sister. We took the kids skating, so of course, I had to skate too. OMG...it was so much fun. It had been awhile since I skated. I only fell once, my sister laughed her ass off so she was no help to me. :) We got home about noon on Sunday and I was so tired, I laid on the couch and didn't wake up until 4:00!!! So I watched the superbowl. What an exciting game. Even though the Steelers won, it was still fun to watch.
I am not even close to being packed and ready for Ganza this weekend. Maybe tonight I can get my stuff in order. I am ready mentally though. :)

New classes at Cowley

OK, Kathy and Alicia are kicking my but on blogging!!! I have a new goal as well on my blog. I will try to keep mine more current. :) Yesterday I took my first Psychology class and my teacher seems to be pretty funny. I am taking Psychology on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 - 2:20 and my History class is on Thursday NIGHTS from 7:00 - 9:50!!!! OMG...I am not looking forward to that. :)

I just wanted to share my favorite Christmas picture this year. I can't believe I got Dave to put on a Santa hat with no fight. After 13 years of marriage, maybe he has figured out it is just not worth the fight because I USUALLY win anyway. :) We had a great Christmas with family and friends. It was my first Christmas without my mom and I did OK until we went to my sisters house in Tulsa and I just lost it. I didn't make the time to go see my mom last Christmas when we went to Tulsa because she was working. So most of my feelings were guilt because we just never know. I do have to tell you, I look at things a lot differently now and don't waste my time not seeing the people I love.

We are having a fine 2009 so far and the scrapbook girls are looking forwaard to Crop A Ganza Sweet Escape on February 6th.

WOW!!! We had a very successful 6th annual Crop Camp last weekend. I don't know about you ladies, but I think I have more fun every year. It is like a family reunion that we actually look forward to going to. :) I hope you all had a great time and we are looking forward to our Spring event in April. Thank you all for attending Crop Camp this year. I am ready for year 7!!! Can you believe that???

My First Poker Run

WILD HOGS!!! These were some of the guys that were with us on our first group bike ride. Left to right Alan Stoll (our neighbor) Alan Groom (friend) Chad Crittenden (brother in law) and Dave (my husband). They were so much fun to pick on. We had to keep stopping at places like Biker's Edge and Hooters, so I asked them if we could stop at Hobby Lobby because they had some scrapbook stuff on sale. :) It was so funny to hear their reaction. I told them they had saddle bags to carry all the stuff I was going to buy. Needless to say, we never did stop at Hobby Lobby, but I gave it a good try. This was a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters and we left Winfield at 9:00 am and headed to Ark City to the American Legion. Then we rode back to Winfield and stopped at the Fairgrounds. Next, we stopped in Belle Plaine at a convenience store. Then over to Mulvane to the American Legion. Our last stop was at Alef's Harley in Wichita. We got to draw a card at every location to put together a poker hand. I ended up with a pair of Aces. Not too bad! We had so much fun and are now looking forward to spring so we can ride some more. :)

OK, it has been 15 days since I posted, so I guess the once a week thing is already shot huh??? Oh well!!! Not much new lately, we have been working like crazy women on Crop Camp. You know we are only 23 days away!!! OMG where does the time go? We are so excited to see all of you at camp this year. We have lots of Crop Camp newbies this year and we are looking forward to meeting all of them.

On Saturday, October 11th, we attended Dave's 30th High School Reunion!!! I can't believe he has been out of school for 30 years!!! It was so cute to watch him socialize with all of his classmates. For those of you that know my husband, he is not a socializer. :)

Dave and I are going on a motorcycle ride this Saturday for a Big Brother's Big Sister's fundraiser. I hope to have a picture to post next week.

Marisa, Diann, Me, Susan, Paige, and Alicia went scrapbooking at The Yoder Haus in Yoder, Kansas. It was the most relaxing crop I have been to ever. No drama or bickering, just a kicked back good time. We walked into the house with 3 homemade pies on the dinning room table and homemade cookies on the coffee table. We ate very well during the weekend as we had our own cook come in and prepare meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Thank you ladies for a stress free weekend and for all the laughs. What a great time. :)

July 14th is the last time I posted anything to my blog??? Are you kidding me??? OK, this is why I should not have a blog, I've been so out of the loop lately it is not EVEN funny. So, here is my update on life. Dave and I got a 2006 Harley in August and LOVE it. It's official, I am a bitch now (biker bitch that is) I love riding with him. We are having a blast together. I don't have a picture of the two of us on it but I am sharing a picture of the bike itself. I have also decided to go back to school. I am hoping to receive my degree in Elementary Education. I am just starting and I know it will be a slow process. I hope to get my degree around the same time my girls are graduating High School (they are in the 4th and 6th grade now) How funny is that, just in time to send them to college and I will just be finishing my schooling. :) I can't wait till Crop Camp, we are so ready this year. I'm sure I will not sound so confident the week before but today, I am ready. I can't wait to see all my peeps, I miss you girls. If you are a blog stalker, sorry I haven't updated in awhile. I will try really hard to do better, my goal is to update once a week. Wish me luck. :)

Colorado Vacation

We had a blast on our trip and enjoyed spending some much needed family time together. I will work on a smilebox presentation and post it soon for more pictures. Vacation in Branson

I am in Branson with my girls and my sister and her family. We are have a blast. So far, we have rode the duck, swam at the resort, went to Riply's Believe it or Not, and last night we went to Celebration City. Here are some of the pictures from our vacation so far. I miss all of my girlfriends and look forward to seeing you when I get home. :)

I don't know if anyone reads this but I thought it had been too long since I posted anything. The girls and I are off work/school until August. I go back August 4th and the girls go back to school August 15th. We are looking forward to our upcoming vacations. The girls and I are going to Branson from June 20th - June 25th with my sister from Tulsa and her family. We are looking forward to doing things there that we have not done before. Then Dave comes home on June 27th and we leave Winfield the 29th for Colorado until July 6th. We are looking foward to doing some things there that we have never done before also. We are taking a train ride through the Royal Gorge in Canyon City, CO and we are all going white water rafting. :) Dave and I have never done either of those things and we can't wait. When we got married in 1995, we watched the fireworks in Ouray, CO and it was like nothing we have ever seen before or since. We have waited 13 years to go back to see the fireworks in the mountians. If you ever get a chance to go, you should.
So if there is anyone out there that actually reads my blog, I AM SORRY I HAVE BEEN SO LAZY. I guess I just hate making a post without pictures. Maybe next time I will have some pictures for you.
OH YEAH, ONE MORE THING...Last weekend, Me, Diann, Susan, and Cheri went to Arlington, TX to the Great American Scrapbook Convention. We had a Blast. We saw some great new stuff and got some great deals on our favorite scrapbooking supplies. Thanks for the memories ladies. I will post picture soon.

As some of you know, I celebrated my 38th birthday on April 22nd. I am approching the top of the hill as Diann tells me. Thanks Diann. :) It was a difficult day as I kept waiting for my mom to call me and she never did. It was always a game with us, she usually forgot to call and I would call her a couple of days after my birthday and give her crap about not calling me ON my birthday. I did however, get A LOT of meals for my birthday WEEK. Monday, I had lunch at Maggie's with my aunt Marsha and my sister Denise and for dinner Dee Dee Stoll took me out to Neives. On Tuesday, Susan Camp took me to El Maguey's for lunch and Dad and Cheri took the three of us girls to The Ridge for dinner. On Wednesday, my supervisor took the whole office staff took us to The Ridge for Secretary's Day luncheon and on Wednesday night, Diann Dawson fixed fried rice, egg rolls, brownies, and pina coladas for dinner. Wow, I might have to actually cook tonight, not sure if I remember how. :)
Thank you friends for all of your birthday celebrations and gifts. I love you ALL.
OH YEAH, I got a new hair style yesterday. I will take a picture and post it soon. I will tell you that it is short enough that you can see the back of my neck. :) OOOHHH I may have hit my midlife crisis already.

Crop Camp was a BLAST!!!

We definitely had a great time at Camp Hiawatha last weekend for Crop Camp. I sent out an email to the croppers that attended Spring Crop Camp about possibly having a 3 night cropping option next year. The response has been overwhelming, it looks like we may offer this 3 night option for Spring Crop Camp 09. Look for more details through your emails at a later date.
I want to personally thank everyone that attends our crops for your support. I love hosting these events and look forward to seeing all of you every spring and fall. I enjoy reading your comments that you fill out on Sundays, some give us new and fresh ideas and some re-assure us that what we do matters to you and that you enjoy cropping at our events.
Thanks again for all of you support during the last 5 years. You know we couldn't do it without YOU!!!

Goodbye Mom

I want to thank all of my friends for their support during this very difficult time for me. My mother celebrated her 60th birthday last summer. She was born on July 4th. My mother's passing was not expected. Although she had been in the hospital for 10 days, she was showing signs of improvement during the last couple of days. She had a lung disease so it was also not unusual for her to go to the hospital if she got sick. My sister called me at 3:00 am on Thursday and said they were taking her to ICU but they didn't sound panic about it. I followed my gut and through my bags in the car and my two girls and I headed to Tulsa. We packed the night before because we had planned on going to Stillwater to spend a few days with Dave and were going to spend the day Friday in Tulsa visiting with my mom and sister. I was 30 minutes away from the hospital when my sister called me and said she had passed. I so wish I could have made it to her before she passed, there was so much I needed to say to her. I asked my sister to have the hospital keep her in ICU until I got there. She looked so worn out from trying to breath. It brings me comfort knowing that she is in a place that she doesn't have to try to breath anymore. I know she is with her mother, (whom she lost when she was only 19) her father and her little sister. I am hoping to speak at my mother's service on Monday and I hope I hold it together. My sister has been AMAZING!!! I appreciate her so much, she will never know how much it means to me that she was there keeping my mother company during her stay in the hospital.
Thank you for taking time to read my personal goodbye to my mom. I know I am in the thoughts and prayers of many people right now and I appreciate it very much. Thank you all for your much needed support.

Just wanted to say that because it is suppose to be 75 degrees here today. :) The girls and I are heading to Stillwater on Thursday to spend a few days with Dave. Ashley turns 9 on March 16th and we are taking her to dinner on Sunday to celebrate. Check back on my blog next week for a funny video of her and her friends dancing to Hannah Montana. It was too funny not to post. :)

I am giving my bloggers an inside peak to the Spring Crop Camp t-shirts. SSSSHHHHH, don't tell Kathy or Alicia. :) If you think this design looks familiar, it probably does. We asked Cara if we could use her idea on this shirt she did in 2006 for Scrappin Boot Camp. She thought it was a good idea and let us use her great design. Thanks Cara. We made a few changes to the design and we are very happy with the way it turned out. The big heart on the back will be pink instead of grey. We will email information on ordering these shirts next week. We will also have Class info as well. So watch your inbox for an email early next week. :)

Hannah Montana in 3D

OMG!!! I took my girls to the Hannah Montana movie last night and I have never seen 4 little girls act so giddy. They were up dancing in their seats and acted like they were at the actual concert. I have to admit, it was pretty real fealing with the 3D glasses on. WOW, it was an experence me and my girls will never forget.

I know I haven't posted in awhile! I am going to post some pictures from christmas later this week but for now I wanted to let you know I am still alive and kicking. I did start a new job yesterday at our cowley county special service coop which is still with the school district. I am working in the office there for 20 hours a week monday - thursday. I like working less hours!!!

Fun Weekend

For those of you that do not know, my husband took a job in Stillwater, OK in August. He works 6 days a week 12 hours a day. We only get to see him on Saturday nights and Sundays. Christa, Ashley and I went to Stillwatter this weekend to see Dave. He has moved in with a roommate and doing pretty well. We spent Saturday shopping downtown and watching Fred Clause (cute movie) We watched the KU/OSU football game on t.v. Saturday night. It was hard to watch because I am a Cowboy fan but really wanted the Jayhawks to win since they are having such a great football season. We had a great visit with Dave and hated to leave yesterday.
